LITTLE VILLAGE — The Chicago Police officer involved in an off-duty shooting in Little Village, where he opened fire using two guns simultaneously, was stripped of his police powers last week, the department said. Officer Edgar Delgado-Arroyo was relieved of police powers Tuesday and assigned to the department s alternate response division, which handles non-emergency calls for service, according to a Chicago Police Department spokesperson. Delgado-Arroyo was not on duty when he opened fire earlier this month in a residential area in Little Village, according to the Civilian Office of Police Accountability. After the incident, police said the officer would be placed on “routine administrative duties” for at least 30 days. Both the civilian review board and the Chicago Police Department’s investigative response team are looking into the incident. Neighbors have meanwhile spoken out, calling for local authorities to determine whether the officer needs to be charged. Baltazar
